As part of its ongoing efforts to reform the health care system in Alberta, the United Conservative Government has recently appointed MLA Chelsae Petrovic to the position of Parliamentary Secretary for Health Workforce Engagement. With this appointment, Petrovic is charged with the task of engaging directly with health care workers to incorporate their feedback and perspectives into the reformation process.

Petrovic brings with her 13 years as a frontline health worker, serving as a licensed practical nurse in acute care, emergency, and on Piikani First Nation. Prior to being elected to the Legislature as the representative for Livingstone-Macleod in the 2023 election, Petrovic served two years as Mayor of Claresholm. She is also an active volunteer for a number of non-profit organizations in her community, and in 2020 was named Claresholm’s Citizen of the Year in recognition of these efforts.
