Jon Dziadyk is a former Edmonton City Councillor who was first elected to city council in 2017 but lost the 2021 election in ward tastawiyiniwak to Karen Principe. He is also a professional urban planner and a Commissioned Naval Officer who has worked in military intelligence.

Jon holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Alberta, as well as a Master of Planning and a Bachelor of Arts in political science. Jon currently serves as the Chief of Staff to the Minister of Affordability and Utilities in the UCP government.

Jon has been a tireless promoter of the North Side. He successfully advocated for the honorary name of Canadian Forces Trail to be applied to 97 Street, north of 137 Avenue. He has hosted the Top of the City Soccer Festival in Castle Downs and created the Facebook group "The North Side Hub" to foster community and support local businesses.

As the Councillor for Ward 3, he advocated for lower taxes and worked to focus spending on core services first which is in-line with conservative policies and priorities. With a shift from municipal politics to provincial, Dziadyk will be the UCP candidate in the riding of Edmonton-Castle Downs currently held by NDP MLA Nicole Goehring. MLA Goehring is a two time incumbent in the riding which she won for the first time in 2015 after beating out PC Minister and Deputy Premier Thomas Lukaszuk.

While the entire City of Edmonton is currently polling in the favor of the NDP, it was not too long ago that the PCs dominated the city. Further, with the name recognition and the municipal experience, Jon will be competitive in the race this May.
