Following the resignation of former Minister Doug Schweitzer last year, Calgary-Elbow has been left without an MLA in the Legislature. Local lawyer Chris Davis hopes to be the next person to hold that seat after the 2023 provincial election.

Davis holds post-secondary degrees in both commerce (University of Calgary) and law (University of British Columbia) – he has practiced administrative, development, and municipal law in the province for more than thirty years. Additionally, he has spent much of his time volunteering on community development committees and not-for-profit boards such as the Calgary West Rotary Club. He also served on the Premier’s Council on Culture from 2013-2015.

This is not his first campaign to hold public office. Davis has previously sought the nomination in Calgary-Elbow in 2018 but was defeated by Schweitzer. He also ran for Calgary City Council in 2017, specifically in Ward 8. He finished in second place.
