Key Influencer - Clancy Bouwman – Campaign Manager for Travis Toews
Clancy Bouwman is a well-connected political operative and campaign manager for UCP leadership candidate, Travis Toews. Bouwman hit the ground running knowing the key players and has steered the campaign maintaining Toews as a front runner throughout the leadership race.
Bouwman was born in Australia and moved to Canada, graduating high school in Ontario. Bouwman began his career as a staffer, working as a parliamentary assistant to Saskatchewan MP Andrew Scheer during Scheer’s time as the leader of the Conservative Party. Bouwman left Scheer’s office in August of 2018 and began with Jason Kenney shortly after.
Bouwman first worked with Kenney in Opposition with the UCP, then as the Executive Assistant to the Premier when Kenney ascended to the office in April 2019. Clancy scaled back his role in the Premier’s Office to part-time to begin pursuit of his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Alberta.
In May 2021, he transitioned to Wellington Advocacy where he continued to work part-time to accommodate his education, now working as a consultant. Bouwman’s experience working directly with party leaders in both the provincial and federal arenas give him first-hand knowledge with the behind-the-scenes pressure that comes at those levels.
