As we approach the writ period for the 2023 provincial election, political parties are beginning to put their final pieces in place to prepare for the campaign. The United Conservatives have turned to Leslyn Lewis’ former campaign manager to run their election this coming spring. Steve is the founder of Intercede Communication/Just Campaigns and has managed leadership campaigns for the federal Conservatives in addition to working in the Maritimes.

In addition to his political work, Steve has served in a number of public service roles, including director of communications (health, northern economic development, and Arctic Council), as well as a chief of staff (fisheries from 2013-2015 and employment and social development in 2015). Outhouse also served as Erin O’Toole’s deputy chief of staff following his selection as the leader of the Conservative Party of Canada.

When he was hired in December, he spoke about the opportunity in front of him. “When you run national campaigns spanning the entire country, you can’t help but develop an affinity for our Conservative heartland. I am looking forward to working with Danielle Smith and the UCP team as they bring their vision for the province to Albertans.”
